Sugar kelp is fast-growing seaweed at up to 6 inches per day. Naturally full of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, including iodine, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, its nutrient dense properties make it a popular dish or ingredient in many restaurants/kitchens. It can also act as an organic input to many other products, such as biofuels, bioplastics, cosmetics, and agricultural products. It is an excellent method of carbon sequestration, moving a large portion of biomass into the deep sea, and removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
